Experts in Mining Value Creation
Thirteen years of open-pit diamond mining experience have been gained by Philip Daniel Pienaar in the remote Lunda provinces of Angola. An appreciation has been developed for the challenges of ensuring that mines operate optimally in Africa’s most isolated regions.
A Master’s degree in Mining Engineering has been obtained from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, and professional engineer status has been achieved with active membership at the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.

OPS was created in 2025 with the mission to expand the expertise of value creation for the mining industry, especially focusing on the potential of mines situated in remote areas around the World.
